I can't hold handstand in the middle of the room either. And I've been teaching for 10 years. And it gives my students permission to be where THEY are in their practice (so they tell me). And I'm still a yogi.
I love this article I came across recently - I am excited there is a turning of the tide and yogis of all shapes, sizes and abilities are sharing what it is that they love about yoga - what the practice offers them. I'm happy that people who aren't gymnasts, or dancers, or acrobats are also putting their hands up and saying they are yogis. Because it's true.
We are all yogis - even if our bods are a little broken or bruised or we have a roll of belly hanging over our pants.
Check out something new I'm working on.
